Servicing and Mechanical
Diesel Service
Engine servicing is recommended every 12 months or 100 hours, whichever occurs first. Douglas Marine can uphold your warranty requirements and maintain service records in Yanmar and Volvo Penta systems. Standard servicing items include:
- Oil and fuel filter replacement
- Air filter cleaning
- Seawater pump impeller replacement
- Replace internal anodes (if required)
- Check belt tension
- Belt replacement (if required)
- Top-up coolant
- Top-up engine oil
Saildrive Service
Saildrive servicing is recommended every 12 months or 100 hours of operation, whichever occurs first. Saildrive servicing is performed out of the water and requires a slipway booking. Standard saildrive service items include:
- Drain and change saildrive oil
- Replace anodes
- Degrease and regrease splines
- Check seals
Genset Service
Genset servicing should be performed every 12 months or 100 hours of operation, whichever occurs first. Standard genset service items include:
- Check and replace primary and secondary fuel filters
- Check and replace oil filters
- Check and clean/replace air filter
- Replace seawater pump impeller and o-ring
- Check belt tension
- Replace belt if required
Anodes
Anodes should be checked and replaced every year. This should be aligned with your vessel's annual haul out and antifoul. Anode replacements require a slipway booking.
